First thing up – We LOVE a golden retriever MMC who also gives ‘You look at her and you die’ vibes. Overall, I truly enjoyed this book. Bailey (FMC) was a little slower with the character development, in my opinion. Bailey started the book off by being dumped, so of course she was a little shell shocked. Plus, her roommates were awful. She felt as if she was on an island with no escape. Not even her own brother was able to help her in the beginning. Once Chase (MMC) came into the picture things started to look up. Keelan also mentioned Bailey’s height multiple times in the book. Bailey wasn’t made to be like other Sport Romance FMC’s, which are tiny. She praised and never gave up on loving Chase. During the book you could tell that Chase wanted to protect Bailey at all costs, even if it was his own happiness. Chase starts the book off with the playboy type but develops into a golden retriever for Bailey. My favorite quote from Chase was when he was talking to himself about bailey and getting to spend more time with her.
Chapter 14, Page 101″The look on Morrison’s face tonight? Awesome. Getting to spend time with James? Even better. Kissing her? Fuck me, I’m over my head.”
This was the starting point of their relationship and only went up from there. When it came to the third act, I was hoping for no third act breakup BUT it made so much better. However, it tied everything in the story line perfectly. \*\*crazy plot during the break\*\*This is a book that I would recommend for someone looking to jump into Sports Romance. Personally, I would have liked a chapter where Chase meets all 4 of Bailey’s brothers.\*\* Hoping that Derek (only one of Bailey’s brothers that played a big part in the story) gets his own book so i can like him more. I HATED how he didn’t protect his sister from the start.
