Embarrassingly, I have resorted to some Jacqueline Wilson books because it was all I enjoyed/knew growing up.
I can’t help but love the simple but interesting storylines that are easy to follow. I want to read more again (it has helped so much unwinding mentally) but I’m at a loss as to what to try. I read Opal Plumstead years ago and loved that because of the period setting! And sweets…
I just finished Love Letters (albeit worrying themes) and enjoyed some of the sexual tension and characters and style.
I want to start with simpler/faster pace books because a large book puts me off even starting the books, ideally a more modern style of writing too? Unsure of Jacqueline Wilson writing any adult-aimed booked but when I searched a while ago it only appeared to be older-teen?
Thanks in advance, can’t wait to hear what is recommended. (Please don’t judge my choices and enjoyment so far 🥹😂)
