This question has been lingering on my mind for quite some time now and I was wondering if any of you had any reading recommendations regarding perhaps the history of a shared American identity and how it has changed over time or any relevant material really. A book, blog post, old YouTube video, anything really would be of use to me and would be greatly appreciated.
