This is a book I’ve read like 10 years ago and I only remember very niche details about it and I need help finding the title!! I’ll do my best to describe as much as I can.
It’s a novel and it’s fantasy and a little bit horror (or at least it was when I was 9-10). Basically, this girl is transported through another world somehow and I think she’s looking for someone. I know that there’s a labyrinth and a castle and fruit and vegetables that are trying to kill (eat?) The girl. At some point (after the vedgetables bit) she finds someone that’s been in this world for a while and they’re hurt I think.
I know the author has multiple books and I’m not sure if that’s the same one but in one of her books, she starts the the book in a desert and I think the MC’s car broke down (she’s like a teen) and she’s with her father and possibly more family members. I know that she talks about a lizard that either drinks with its eyes and it’s whole body brings the water to its eyes. She also sees a mirage at some point.
