Hello, I wanted to ask what y‘all think about terminally ill love stories. I actually really dislike them because i kind of feel like authors use these topics to create a sad setting but i also feel like they use these type of topics (cancer,…) for profit?? I can‘t exactly explain it but it rubs me the wrong way unless it is executed the „right“ way which I feel like doesn‘t happen often.
So I‘d like to know if you also feel the same way about these topics and what maybe people who have had cance, etc. think about these books where they especially make a love story out of it.

I disagree. It’s seems wrong to say love stories shouldn’t be written about any particular group even terminally ill. I think of books like A Fault In Our Stars or Love Story and ask what’s wrong with them having love stories.
Would you also get rid of stories where people fall in love after other tragic events?
