So I just read Blood, Sweat and Chrome, the story of the making of Mad Max: Fury Road.
What really struck me about the book were the accounts of the difficulties of working with Warner Brothers. I found the inner workings of the studio execs fighting the films existence and the few who stood up and believed in the movie such as the marketing executive assigned to the film fascinating.
Are there any more books detailing the losing war that creatives are fighting against modern Hollywood, now that it is a billion dollar money making machine that is being controlled by the studios whose main desire is profit and not risk taking or originality?
