I was thinking about how I sometimes basically read the same book over and over again, obviously by different authors and the stories are different, but the core, the trope is the same – and I never get bored of it.
For me it’s the strong woman, the outcast even, that fights for herself because people don’t really understand where she is coming from. Maybe I feel seen and not alone when I read them, or maybe I see that other people have similar (or worse) struggles. For some reason, as disturbing as the stories might be, I find them really comforting and I wonder why I always turn to them. Maybe you guys have similar experiences?
