Halloween is my favorite holiday. I have a tradition where I read a horror novel every October. I have been doing this for years and have gone through pretty much all the big name, scariest books. This year I want something a little different. I still want a horror book, but I want it to have a Halloween feel. I mean I want leaves, fall weather, pumpkins/jack o lanterns, costumes, etc. Basically I am looking for something like the movie Trik R Treat but in book form. It doesn’t have to be about Halloween, just have a strong Halloween vibe. Scarier the better and intended for adults please. Thanks!

Alright this isn’t a perfect suggestion- Head Full of Ghosts has been a repeat fall time read, I’m not sure why but it has that vibe to it, but Halloween isn’t a primary theme, it does take place during fall/cold season & has a lot of mention of horror movies and other spooky time themes.
“Something Wicked This Way Comes” by Ray Bradbury. It’s a dark and atmospheric novel about two boys confronting a sinister carnival that arrives in their town, bringing with it eerie and supernatural events. It’s perfect for a spooky read during the Halloween season. I read it during Halloween in 2020.
