Hello, everyone! So happy this subreddit exists!
I just read “The Sheltering Sky” by Paul Bowles and I’m looking for things with a similar vibe or other suggestions that meet/approach these criteria:
– Fiction or memoir
– preferably classic, on the older side, or at least not set in recent years
– Set primarily outside of the “western world” (US, UK, Europe)
– Features adventure, exploring, travel, culture (particularly the main character or characters grappling with an unfamiliar culture that’s not their own)
