My dad is 70 and retired and doesn’t do much with his free time except watch tv. He frequently complains about how there is nothing to watch because he’s “seen everything” and I thought we could read a book together to give him a break from TV. I want to bond with him more as he has cancer and his time is limited. He used to read a lot when he traveled for work but hasn’t read in many years. Some of his favorite authors are:

Wilbur Smith
I personally like sci fi and fantasy but am willing to branch out to suit his tastes more. I should also mention he likes history a lot.
