    Hi there.

I would like to read more, but the majority of fiction books I come across seem to bore me after a point, and I put them down. I am interested in crazy/freaky/weird stories that are also thought provoking. I am leaning towards Sci-Fi and psychological dramas or thrillers, and dislike very long, technical or poetic descriptions seen often in the fantasy genre.

It might be cringe but the themes that attract me are: loneliness, the meaning of self/existence/consciousness which includes AI I guess, exploring reality/physics, time travel and multiverse, biology, psychology, lots of character depth and development, and there must be some kind of message delivered. Bonus if there are some actual facts in there too.

Some books and shows that I loved (in no order):

Anything by Philip K Dick, Dark Matter, Hitchhiker’s guide to the Galaxy, The first 15 lives of Harry August, Requiem for a dream, Southern Reach trilogy, Bojack Horseman, The woman in the Dunes, Flowers for Algernon, Solaris, anything by HG Wells, The history of bees, Life of Pi, I, Robot, I am Legend

It doesn’t have to be Sci-Fi, as a lot of themes in this genre bore me as well, such as space travel and alien cultures, geeky overly technical descriptions like in The Martian or we Legion (I literally couldn’t bear this book after the first few chapters).

Would appreciate some suggestions for getting back to reading literature. Thanks!
