You’d almost certainly enjoy Thomas Pynchon. The Crying of Lot 49 is a relatively easy introduction to his work and is just a cool story overall. It’s about a woman who finds out an ex of hers has died and that she was named executor to his estate. While investigating his assets in an attempt to execute his estate (in particular his shares in a cigarette company and a stamp collection he owned) she starts to believe in a conspiracy theory involving a multiple-hundreds-of-years old rivalry between two secret societies of mail carriers. The book shifts pretty dramatically in tone from straight up goofy sitcom shenanigans to anxious and paranoid the further she gets into the investigation.
