Just finished Sea of Tranquility last night. I went into it completely blind so was surprised by what followed the first section. While I somewhat enjoyed the rest of the book I easily could have poured over pages of Edwin’s journey.

Essentially, Edwin is the grandson of an English earl who after scandalizing his father is exiled to Canada in 1912 as a remittance man (he gets money from home to live out his days). I was excited to read a 200 page book about a young man coming to terms with this new reality and trying to find meaning in life.

I’m aware the character appears in Emily St. John Mandrel’s other works but I’m not sure that it’s what I’m looking for nor am I immediately excited to jump into another of her works.

Non-fiction would be okay with me as well but I’m primarily looking for a work of fiction.

TLDR; rich English young man exiled to England around 1912 and tries to find meaning in life
