I haven’t read for a few months after several life events happening and I miss it a lot. There’s so many books on my to read to list and sat on my bookshelf but I feel they’re too heavy to tackle. Does anyone have any light easy book recommendations to ease me back into reading again?

Here are the books I read in the year before I stopped reading and enjoyed:

My name is lucy barton by Elizabeth Strout

A crooked tree by Una Mannion

Never let me go by Kazuo Ishiguro

A little life by Hanya Yanagihara

If I can’t have you by Charlotte Levin

Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica

The Wasp Factory by Ian Banks

Out of Love by Hazel Hayes

    Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart

    Young Mungo by Douglas Stuart

I who have never known men by Jaqueline Harpman

    1. Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano. Mystery/light comedy, easy to read but entertaining.

Not sure if you’re into romances haha but a good author would be Mimi Matthews specifically The Work of Art. Its very calming with a slight mystery sub-plot but the characters are so wonderful, there’s an immediate warmth when reading and there are no explicit scenes.

But also if you’re not, Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones and The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna
      are also great reads.

The Diary of a Nobody by George and Weedon Grossmith

Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day by Winifred Watson

      The Card by Arnold Bennett

    4. I would recommend Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt, it is a charming novel. A bit of romance (nothing sexual at all) and a bit of mystery. Who would have thought a story that includes an octopus would be so good.
