So I’ve challenged myself to read as many books from the “disturbing books iceberg” as possible. Why? Because why not
This was the next one I snagged from my library.
Well, the premise of this book was dark. And it only got more messed up as the book went on.
Overall, I felt like there was too much “fluff” in this book. Pages where nothing really happens. But when stuff did happen, it was actually interesting.
Massive trigger warning if you’re someone who self harms, or has done so in the past. I wasn’t really expecting Camille to actually have carved words into her body. That was nuts.
My biggest annoyance with the book was Adora and Amma. Their characters really rubbed me the wrong way, especially Amma. Shockingly hateful characters. I mean, they were well written, but still hard to stomach.
Definitely read this one to the end. The plot twists just keep coming after the 3/4 mark.
Did you find this book disturbing?
