So for context, I read the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard when I (27 F) was a teenager. I fell in LOVE with Mavens character. He had so much trauma and was an actual psychopath. I’m looking for a similar read that is more mature. I read all of SJM’s books and would like something on par or more “spicy”. A fantasy genre with tropes like enemies to lovers whiplash, mind games, slow burn, moral dillemmas, stockholm syndrome, and other dark theme exploration. Posessive/ obsessive/ stalking, and whatever you would call “I know I shouldnt be into this person, but I am”. Preferably, the MC (no specific gender requirements) would have a strong personality and provide good banter. If you’ve a reccommendation that matches some of these things, I would appreciate it!
