Sorry if this post isn’t allowed, but I have lurked around this sub for awhile, and I notice some people mention how they read at an early age or have taught their children how to read at an early age. I have two kids under 5 (4 year old and 2, almost 3, year old). I was curious at what age you taught your kids to read, and how you went about doing so. My youngest doesn’t have much interest in books at all, but I read to my oldest quite a bit. I used to read to her several times a day, but I just feel like she isn’t really learning to read at all. Any and all advice is appreciated. I have tried multiple things. The oldest is currently in preschool, and she is exceeding all expectations EXCEPT in regards to developing reading skills. I really want to work on this with her. She takes a lot of pride in learning new things and doing well at stuff.
