I’m still kind of figuring out what I like as an adult. I’ve tried classics – I love Wuthering Heights and Gone with the Wind, I like Jane Eyre and Anna Karenina, I dislike Jane Austen books. My favorite books of all time would have to be Anne of Green Gables, and I like LOTR for a comfort read. I like C.S. Lewis – both his Narnia series as well as some of his more theological/philosophical ones like Mere Christianity and Screwtape Letters. I also like reading some theology by A.W. Tozer. Recently, I really enjoyed the book Becoming Mrs Lewis by Patti Callahan and the James Herriot All Creatures series. When I was younger, I liked fantasy/fiction – the Uglies by Westerfeld, Pirates by Celia Rees, the Land of Elyon, and Artemis Fowl, and Fruits Basket manga.

Whew! Thanks for staying with me. Basically, I used to love reading but don’t know where to start back up again. I’m open to teen fiction where I’m more used to but want more than just that, but the adult section is so large and I don’t know where to begin. Ideally, I’d like to test the waters and try to read just one book a month for 2024. I’d like to have a variety of genres and styles. Does anyone have some ideas and suggestions for me to start with? I’d really appreciate it, thanks!
