As someone who wants to be a writer, and as a reader both, there is one thing I really love in fiction, and that’s a good antagonist. The ability of a well-written one to make the reader think, or inspire genuine terror, or enhance the emotional stakes of everything through their actions towards the protagonist and the ones they care about, I love it all.
Do you all have any favorites? More to that, what’s the reason? As a bonus, has it ever been to a point you were more invested in the antagonist than the actual protagonist?
