As a school librarian, I’m actively advocating for kids to find their own space to read. Both to make reading a pleasant me-time sort of experience and to make sure they don’t lose their library books by always keeping them in the same place.
I want to stock books in my library for kids to use that will inspire them to redecorate their rooms or carve out some space for a reading nook. I’m not looking for anything wild, blanket fort ideas would be fine. A lot of my students live in apartments so I think this is an important subject to supply for them, because many of them have told me they don’t feel like they have their own space at home.
I read American Girl’s “Groom Your Room” as a kid but would like something a bit more gender neutral. Any suggestions you’ve got would be wonderful!
