Finished this book yesterday and I’m not sure how to feel about it. Some parts of the book were nice, like the part about alice “selling her talent until she has no talent left and a lot of money”, I had never thought about it that way. But a lot of the book I found to be kind of.. pretentious? (I say this as a pretty pretentious person myself lol.) And I couldn’t relate at all. Like the bits about morality possibly having no meaning if there’s no God or how you have to be miserable because everyone else is miserable. I didn’t like any of the characters or relationships either. Like Eileen and Simon were maybe okay, they weren’t great but like I could deal with them but Alice and Felix both as characters and within their relationship with each other were pretty unsufferable. I might be missing the point here though. I suck at reading between the lines and the point and I have a sort of nonexistent relationship. What did you think of the book? ( I think this might give the impression that I hated the book, but I really don’t! It was okay, just not something I love or something that left a huge impression. Though I did cry a bit…lol three out of five stars at least)
