I personally hate when a character’s physical appearance is described to the smallest detail, especially if it’s not a romance book. In my opinion, unless it’s explicitly important to the story, I don’t want to know the colors of the character’s eye or how many wrinkles are on their face.
I read books to use my imagination and if I get every explicit detail, I start not enjoying the book as much.
It also makes fan art much better, since you can see the hundreds of interpretations people can have based on a character, instead of all of them made from one template, basically looking the same in different fonts.
What’s everyone’s opinion on this?
