I am on a bit of a Michael Crichton kick lately…
Jurassic Park – loved it, start to finish
Lost World – started off pretty slow, but picked up and the 2nd half ended up more exciting than Jurassic Park IMO, but JP was the better overall book
Sphere – loved it, start to finish
Andromeda Strain – I’ve hit a wall with this one. I am just over halfway finished and my eyes are glossing over. Love the premise but there is way too much “science stuff” and unnecessary details. Parts of it read like technical documentation, rather than a novel. I think Crichton tried too hard in that sense and it takes away from the overall story, IMO.
Anyone else agree?
I may set this one aside and give “The Great Train Robbery” a go.
