Okay, so I am going to go on a bit of a tangent here, so please bear with me.

Idk why nobody gives a fuck about South Asians. As a South Asian (Indian American) girl who loves romances, I feel very very left out 🙁 . And it’s just not romances. EVERYTHING. Everyone is about representation except Indians. Like literally every race will be included except us! It’s like we’re being blatantly left out and that hurts my fucking feelings cuz we exist too. We have lives too. We have drama too. We aren’t all curry and engineering and math and Ganesh and we don’t base our personality on that. We aren’t snake charmers or a cow cult.

I think it’s because we’re kinda chill (a bit too chill imo) and we don’t really protest or speak up that much. I mean it’s getting better (Marvel’s finally adding some South Asian characters). The only time we are mentioned is to make stupid overused tech support jokes. Basically we are the comedy relief race in western media.

The only Netflix drama series I can think of that has accurate representation is “Never Have I Ever”. The title is fucking ironic.

Anime, manga, webtoons (I can excuse these bc China, Japan, and Korea aren’t familiar with us yet), romance novels, superhero shows, NOTHING. Euphoria, Supernatural, Scream, Twilight, nope.

I can’t relate to any character. I can’t cosplay as any character. I can’t feel any character.

    So anyways, rant over.

So the point is, can anyone recommend me an enemies to lovers romance with your usual cold intimidating male lead but had some representation of South Asian. Something like Spanish Love Deception but like with Indians. Or the Twisted Series (this series would be perfect with representation if the author represented South Asians). An Indian American girl, like me.

I posted this on r/RomanceBooks but some comment karma bs stopped me
