I notice that a lot of comedic stories (or at least stories that have some level of comedy in them) tend to turn more serious near the end. Is there an opposite type? The drama that becomes comedy by the end.
What do you think of the idea anyway? Why it is not used? It’s not like funny story can’t be serious, there is a way to hide tragedy and complex dimelas behind a clever joke. Although it is way harder to pull off. At the same time, starting with comedy and bringing seriousness later makes a story feel more ‘mature’. It doesn’t ensure it however. Sometimes it feels like a cheap trick. What do you think?
