Don’t know very much how to explain this, but my whole life I’ve had issues with description in fiction books. Even if the author 100% describes a character, from clothing to hair to gender and anything else, the character will be nothing but a voice for me. I just can’t picture a person that a text is describing. The very same happens for places, but is a bit less troublesome because at least I can picture a general view in my mind (without any details that is).

That being said, there’s at least one author out there that I know that it fits right to what I like: Rubem Fonseca. He was a brazilian short story writer and something that I always loved about them is that in all of his stories, that are no descriptions of characters and even places (he just gave a very simplified description of where the story was taking place). Some of my favorite literary experiences comes from reading his stories, but at this point I’ve read them all (a lot of them more than once).

So, are there other authors that are similar to this?
