I love literary fiction. But, a lot of literary fiction is bleak in the way it deals with life and the human condition. However, I find some literary fiction hilarious, or playful, or beautiful enough that reading it makes me feel good, not bad.

Samuel Beckett’s longer works make me laugh out loud. “The Birthday Party” by Harold Pinter is also very funny. “A Happy Death” by Camus is quite joyful and beautiful. Any other recommendations of serious literature that makes you feel GOOD?
