I’m looking for a translated fiction book by an East Asian author with psychologically transgressive themes, set in a large city.

I would greatly appreciate it if the book has a gritty urban or a sinister sterile atmosphere.

Please no supernatural elements, but cyberpunk/transhumanist themes are ok.

    Thank you for your time.

It follows a scientist’s controversial discovery in a fictional, remote jungle. It delves into the transgressive nature of unchecked scientific curiosity and the exploitation of indigenous cultures.
