I’ve been reading non-fiction my entire life. Before 2023, I’ve mostly read history. Some were on self-development. This year I decided I will not read any non-fiction and will try out fiction. I’ve gone through Lord of the Rings, Dune, Crime and Punishment, A Tale of Two Cities, among a few other shorter stuff. I’ve also tried comics and read pretty much every Batman comic released since 2010. Nevertheless, I didn’t feel what I felt while reading Harry Potter. Other works I read might be superior than Harry Potter, I’m not talking about that. Just that this work felt soothing. It didn’t demand as much focus or critical thinking as the others, yet was pretty complex and had much food for thought. Since I read a lot, many times I’m reading while I’m stressed from work. Harry Potter was the only book series in which I was so invested that I didn’t feel I was stressed anymore. I loved the other stuff I’ve read as well, but this was different. I never found this in non-fiction as well. So I’m asking you guys to suggest me the books that you get so much invested in that you naturally don’t feel the stress.
