Growing up, I had a crazy addiction for fictional books and zero interest in non-fiction. I could read any sort of fictional genre and never be bored.
It was when I recently started reading books which were a bit more complex than normal 13 year old fiction, books like It, The Stand, Dune,Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and so on. I initially found these books really interesting, but I never could complete them for some reason.
I also suddenly found non-fiction more interesting and don’t mind reading those books now. But I really want to continue reading fiction (for the rest of my life if possible) ,but i have no idea how.

My guy: Dune, LOTR and GOT are books meant for 10-15 year old boys. You weren’t reading anything “complex”.
I think that’s normal. The type of book I read goes in cycles.
