It doesn’t need to be specifically oriented towards software engineers, but that’s the perspective from which I’m trying to learn more about these things.
In general, I want to learn about how to learn effectively, how to feel more competent earlier in my career when I straight up don’t know a lot and have to go through the challenging journey of developing my skills and working in new spaces. I also want to learn more about how to be a good teacher, because that’s a huge part of becoming an expert in a given area; I also suck at explaining things so I want to learn about that too.
An example of the types of “lessons from accomplished individuals” I’m interested in is Chris Lattner (a really smart programmer dude) has talked about how you need to be okay with asking really stupid questions, because that’s how you learn. Hearing someone that successful make it clear that you’ll have to be okay with coming across as dumb to get better is the type of advice and “lessons” I’m hoping to find in some books.
