Id like to read a novel about organized crime from the perspective of a criminal. I know of the godfather and I plan on reading this, but I’d like to read something set in more recent times (90s-modern day). Ideally it would be quite a short read, up to 600 pages, as I am a very slow reader and sometimes struggle to find the motivation to read. Any suggestions are appreciated <3

For a crime novel that combines humor with a keen observation of society, ‘The Big Sleep’ by Raymond Chandler is a book I often find myself recommending. Follow the iconic private eye Philip Marlowe as he navigates a web of deceit in Los Angeles. Chandler’s sharp wit and complex plotting are unmatched.
