Mine was when I discontinued a book, maybe the 2nd book of a long series, because the MC won’t shut up about coffee. It wasn’t so bad in the first book but in the second, MC won’t shut up about how coffee is the nectar of the gods, the best thing in life, and all that yada yada basic non-sense. It was a good book and I finished the first quite quickly but goodness gracious, it really got to me by second. Your want for coffee isn’t a valid replacement for personality and I felt like it was lazy writing how the author kept on coming back to it and just had to put it down.
