I usually do not read romance as I have never really been able to get my head around romantic love, dating, marriage, all that romantic relationship stuff IRL. It makes no sense to me so I tend to steer clear of books about it.

However, I am in the mood for something steamy and would appreciate any suggestions in this vein.

Romance is OK as long as the sexual chemistry is there and is acted on. I guess I’m looking for something like ‘porn with plot/porn with feelings’, to use a fanfic term.

In other words please not a book full of schmoopy stuff where they just spend the entire time writing lovey dovey syrupy texts to one another and daydreaming about marrying then maybe kiss a bit at the end. Not judging people into that stuff, but it’s not for me.

If it helps, I liked Last Night at the Telegraph Club (I know it’s not erotica but it’s romance lol) and The Kiss Quotient. Also loved S2 of the TV show Bridgerton.

tl;dr the more sex scenes the better.

    TIA!

    1. You may like some books by Tijan.. tends to be more sexually explicit and less about the romance. More alpha male with a little bit of the love stuff.

    2. If you enjoy a good enemies-to-lovers storyline, ‘The Hating Game’ by Sally Thorne is a book I recommend for its witty banter and electric chemistry between the characters. It’s a delightful and sexy rom-com that will keep you smiling long after you’ve turned the last page.

    3. Katee Roberts’ Dark Olympus series is barely not porn.

Pucking Around IS straight up unrealistic poly hockey porn. I hate read that one. You didn’t ask for MMMF, but there’s very little romance.

    4. If you like vampires and werefolk, Anita Blake novels should fit the bill. Plenty of erotica. Written by Laurell K Hamilton
