I’m in a bit of a reading slump, after I finished the bell jar it took hold. I need something similar. Also similar maybe to movies like Ginger Snaps, Jennifer’s body, or Saint Maud; and music like Ethyl Cains Preacher’s Daughter? There’s such a specific feeling in these that I’m really really hunting for more of

I think that A Certain Hunger by Chelsea G. Summers kinda fits here, though it’s probably more similar in vibe to Jennifer’s Body than it is The Bell Jar. I personally didn’t like it very much but I know that a lot of people do so I’d give it a go anyway.
My Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado! I haven’t watched Jennifer’s Body (despite wanting too) but I think it matches quite well.
Like, themes that are very specific to women’s experiences? Could try *Nightbitch* by Rachel Yoder, where a woman’s dissatisfaction with her life as a stay-at-home-mom to a toddler and her frustration with her absent husband manifests when she starts slowly turning into a dog.
