My most recent series was Riyria Revelations and I really enjoyed it. It’s more or less exactly what I’m looking for (though I’m hoping for a book with more good vs evil vibes).
I am aware there are other books by the author, but I’m looking for new authors to broaden my horizons.
My absolute favorite fantasy books of all time are the Hobbit, Dracula, and the Narnia series.
I’ve read ASOIF and hated it, way too dark and depressing for me with all the gray characters and violence. Would like something a little more whimsical.
I haven’t read a ton of fantasy, other books I’ve read are: Mistborn, Earthsea, Prydain, LOTR, Harry Potter, and Book 1 of WOT.
Any recommendations? Thanks! I’ll take YA or adult stuff, doesn’t matter to me.

If you like dragons the Seraphina Duology is pretty fun and has interesting world building. It’s low on action/huge battles tho.
