i just finished reading **The Yellow Wallpaper** by Charlotte Perkins Gilman and not only did i love the story, but i LOVED the format of it. i really enjoyed how she was directly “talking to us” through journal entries and i would like to find more books like this.

Bridget Jones’ Diary by Helen Fielding.
One of my favorite books written in this intimate way is Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster (all letters to the titular character). Another great diary novel is The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie.
