Peter Heller is the author I’m basing this recommendation on. The Dog Stars, The River, The Last Ranger, The Guide, were all books I thoroughly enjoyed. They were set in majestic outdoor environments and dealt with adventure and mystery. Looking for authors with similar themes…? TIA.
