I read “Erasure” about two years ago and then I read “Percival Everett by Virgil Russell” this past year and hated it. It was too fragmented, with it setting up a lot of little interesting stories but never really pushing them forward or concluding them, which was obviously unsatisfying. It was a shame because the start had a lot of potential. I would like to make sure I pick a book I like more. I’m thinking of picking up “Assumptions” or “I am not Sidney Poitier”, but I will take any suggestion. And please don’t just drop the name of one of his books (this isn’t my first time posting on this sub, I know how you all are) because that doesn’t help me. Please tell me why it works.
