Hey guys. My sister and I started our own little book club and I was wondering if you guys know about any books that have gay relationships in them? Not where the relationship is necessarily the focal point or the main plot but it is prevalent. Nothing sad or with sex (that’s a me thing) please. But still recommend whatever you think would work. My sister is a little homophobic but I think if she was exposed to more happy stories with gay people she’d understand more. Thanks!

Anxious People has a lesbian couple as side characters. No sex.
Happy Place has a lesbian couple as side characters. There are no lesbian sex scenes, but there are a few heterosexual sex scenes with the main characters. Idk if you don’t want to read sex scenes, or specifically gay sex scenes…
The Song of Achilles is about a gay couple, but that’s a little on the nose maybe. There are some intimate scenes, but I think they would be easy to skip.
The house in the cerulean sea by TJ Klune has a nice, gentle budding romance between 2 men which is not the focal point, and is also a very good book in itself which gave me all the warm fuzzy feelings. Highly recommend it!
Is it okay if the sex isn’t explicit, or do you want absolutely zero?
Not a relationship book but [Less](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/39927096) by Andrew Sean Greer has a cute/funny gay main character.
If you’re open to YA, maybe Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. The first one.
“Half Way Home” Hugh Howie.
The song of Achilles? I think it’s called, was very moving.
She Gets The Girl by Rachel Lippincott & Alyson Derrick
Best ones I’ve read in my life:
Song of Achilles
Good Omens
A little life
Grandmaster of demonic cultivation
Heaven official’s blessing
Guardian
Red white royal blue
Heartstopper
Vile Bodies
Colour Purple (Sapphic relationship)
A lot of current science fiction or fantasy features gay/lesbian relationships. Try Gideon the Ninth for starters.
Guncle is fabulous. I also loved Cerulean Sea.
Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour is a cute wlw ya contemporary. It’s more of a coming of age story, the main character just happens to like girls.
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Universe is another good one!
