Maybe the Kate Daniels series, by Ilona Andrews? (I was a bit underwhelmed by the narrator of the audiobook, but still a good listen) Romance doesn’t pick up until the later books.
Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter or Psy-Changeling series might fit.
Perhaps less explicitly badass but very enjoyable — Half A Soul by Olivia Atwater. There’s a sequel, but it’s not a series. I saw a blurb say “Bridgerton meets Howl’s Moving Castle” which is about right.
