I’ve struggle my entire life to get into books. And one thing I used to always hear from book readers is, “The movie isn’t as good”. Sometimes they say it to the point of not even liking the movie.
Well, recently, I tried to get into books again. Physical copies weren’t doing it, tried Audible but couldn’t focus on what was being read to me, downloaded the Kindle app and am having a lot of success. There’s been about 7-9 days that I’ve read and in that time I’ve managed to read all of the first two Harry Potter books and a quarter of the third.
But, here’s the thing, I’ve never really cared for the movies. Matter-a-fact, I’ve only ever seen the first movie and Goblet of Fire, and I remember very little from them. Well, upon reading the first, I loved it so much. After finishing it, I decided to try the movie again. And I did like it better, but not a whole lot better. And a lot of small scenes that I loved are missing. And while I understand those scenes don’t add much, they were enjoyable to me. So now I finally understand the criticism.

Round of applause to you for finding an approach that worked for you! I’m excited for your reading journey. I agree that the small scenes and roles in the HP series really made the books shine. I hope you continue to enjoy!
