Hi, I’m trying to find a good high fantasy book that doesn’t have lots of fighting, I like more story and adventure then battle and fighting, some is okay but I find it rather boring and won’t continue a book if it drags on.
If anyone knows any good recs with or without a romance, I’m looking for queer high fantasy books aswell.
If you don’t have any books recs but have a rec on how I can find a book that will fit my interests that’ll be great anything helps.
Im trying to get more into reading but there are so many books out there and I don’t know where to even start looking.
Thank you!

For a blend of myth and reality, ‘American Gods’ by Neil Gaiman is a book I find myself recommending time and again. Gaiman’s tale explores the gods of old myths and their struggle to survive in modern America, a place of new gods like technology and media.
You could try Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo.
Although it’s part of a bigger universe, the story is pretty much self contained. It focuses on a ragtag group of teenagers pulling off an impossible heist. One of my favourite books i read this year
Chronicles of Elantra by Michelle Sagara
The Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin
Anything by Brandon Sanderson, the stormlight archives is great.
The Singing Hills Cycle by Nghi Vo
Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
The World of Five Gods series by Lois McMaster Bujold
The Greenhollow Duology by Emily Tesh
The Books of Raksura by Martha Wells
T Kingfisher’s books
Gideon the ninth by Tamsyn Muir. There is a lot of exploring around and yes there are fights but they are short and I found them dynamic. There are queer too, Gideon is a girl actually and she falls so easily for other girls.
The dragonbone chair by tad Williams. Starts one of my favorite trilogies.
