Since I really like the stories of Yakuza or Judgement games from RGG Studio, I am looking for books with similar stories.
It should be crime dramas set in Japan’s underworld. If the story is focused on the Yakuza or at least contains Yakuza it would be awesome but I could live without. What I don’t want is a black and white type story, where you follow a good cop or whatever, hunting after the evil criminal. It should be more about the different shades of grey.
I hope somebody can recommend me something, even though my request is very specific. Also it should be translated to English, because I don’t speak Japanese.

Cult X by Fuminori Nakamura is not about Yakuza, but the cults are still criminal organizations and have a similar vibe
Black lagoon.
A Japanese businessman is kidnapped by a group of criminals known as the black lagoon company but ends up joining them when his boss basically leaves him to die. These are hardened criminals working under the Russian mafia and through them,the man is exposed to the gritty underbelly of society as he tries to make it out of any given job alive while struggling with some of the moral problems that arise.
The yakuza doesn’t play a huge role but they DO show up later on when the daughter of a yakuza boss is kidnapped. There are PLENTY of other criminal organizations l,though and all of them are just as ruthless as you’d expect.
