I started reading recently. Project Hail Mary was the first book I ever read. Took my time but the ending was worth it. Looking forward to the movie. I loved reading it and then telling it to my wife. She was interested in it as well. She loved it as well. I thought it brought us together. Then I got The Mountain in the Sea. It was an absolute snooze fest. Too much philosophy. Full of needless details explaining water dripping and reflections. Hated it but somehow got through it. When I tried telling the story to my wife, she literally fell asleep.
I want to recreate the magic of PHM again. I want to read and tell her a story that she will love. Doesn’t have to be sci-fi. I hate pure romance. Asking for suggestions from you guys..
