I want a book with a beautiful but tragic story, that takes me on a long journey in the characters life. I really need to forget about my life for a bit so I’d love to be pulled into the books, I want to really be dragged into it.
Any genre is fine though I prefer ones with a good supporting cast or one that’s a bit sad haha.

I’d give some suggestions on what type of books I’d like but I haven’t read a book in years so I can’t haha.
Thank you for taking the time to recommend one, please also tell me why and what that book meant to you if you’d like. Just out of curiosity and because it can help again thank you

Thistlefoot by GemmaRose Nethercott. Oh, it doesn’t seem like it, playing like it’s a cute lil YA book with magic and puppets and a fun cottage on giant chicken legs. And then bam, you’re sitting at your desk sobbing for half an hour.

“Perla” by Carolina De Robertis. It’s a wonderful book, yet very sad. I cried continuously while reading it. A short description:

*Perla by Carolina De Robertis is an ambitious and emotional novel. The protagonist Perla grew in in Argentina in a privileged family and she has to come to terms with her father’s ugly past as she learns about his part in war crimes that have terrorised the country.*

    4. A Fine Balance by Mistry. I at one time suggested it to my book club because I thought it was amazing, and they all said it was too depressing /sad.
