Hello All
Law has scarred me to reading but my wife’s family exchange books on Christmas Eve and I wanted to avoid non fiction this time.
I seem to like 1st person stories about failure guys, particularly bottom of the barrel drunk or stoned ones. I guess as my own life has been disappointing it makes you feel a brotherhood. I loved Ablutions by Patrick deWitt, also obviously Bukowski, Knockemstiff, Last Exit to Brooklyn, even Fear and Loathing.
Open perhaps also to an entertaining autobiography although not by some smug prick who’s conquered the world. I guess by definition someone who’s written a published work is already maybe too successful. A manuscript found on a homeless guys body would fit the bill I guess!
Thanks in advance
