so my friends and I started talking about Fermi paradox, the great filter and the grand observer theory and we suddenly asked ourselves how small we are as human beings. We also started to realize that whatever we are conversing about has already been shared/thought about, could be from thousand years ago. we also tackled God’s existence and the alignment of the Bible and science. I also read a research about how our brains change when we meditate/pray as if our internal organs align with that mind state (brain as the ultimate organ). If you have recommendation with topics such as these but not limited with those maybe more overwhelming please do share. (I’m also not sure if I would want a sci-fi but ill also give that a shot)

The Three Body Problem takes a look at the Fermi paradox (the second book is titled The Dark Forest). It is hard sci-fi tho, and includes math and physics.
Geneticist Francis Collins led the Human Genome Project and served as Director of the NIH. He wrote a book Im reading called The Languge of God.
Might not be for you but he’s a good scientist and writer with a good grasp of the topics you’re talking about.
