I’m talking third-persn where the narrator doesn’t exist in the story. Have y’all ever come across one who’s jovial or skeptical or has any kind of persnality ?
I ask because there’s a video game called The Bard’s Tale where the narrator is a wise cracker and sarcastic. He interacts with the titular Bard and they have little bickers here and there throughout the game.
Obviously, we can’t have that in books, but I would one day like to come across a story where maybe the narrator gives opinions on the clothing styles or comments on the motivations or actions of the characters.
* I’m asking about persnality written into the words, not someone narrating an audiobook.

Check out Don Leslie. He’s by far one of the best narrators for audiobooks. Deep voice and ability to adjust to different styles and accents.
Your best best is probably something written by Terry Pratchet, maybe give Good Omens a shot
