I’m looking for books that grapple with a tumultuous psychological journey… perhaps an Antihero finding themself, but definitely how they set on a pathway toward redemption.
Only book that comes to mind is Dune Messiah. Brothers K as well.

The Grace Year by Kim Liggit
The Long Walk by Stephen King
Hopefully those fit.. definitely psychological journeys but do not involve redemption
This is a little more hard-boiled than uplifting, but you could try The Ghosts of Belfast by Stuart Neville.
Also, again if you’re open to mystery books, The Skull Mantra by Eliot Pattison might work for you. Very complex and well written! The hero Shan was once a high-level investigator in Beijing, but the book opens after his fall from grace with him languishing in a harsh labor camp in Tibet. There he was kept alive through the forgiveness of the imprisoned Tibetan lamas who don’t hold it against him that he’s as Han Chinese as their oppressors. But he now feels the guilt very keenly and when he is pulled out of prison to perform an investigation for the warden, he struggles to survive while doing everything he can to help the Tibetans and earn his redemption.
